SFS 6002:2025 was published in Finnish and in Swedish last year. Now this new edition has been translated in English as standard SFS 6002:2025 Electrical Work Safety. The new edition has been prepared by SESKO’s standardization committee SK 78 (Electrical Work Safety).
As Jafar Keshvari, the Chairman of IEEE/ICES and Adj. Professor at Aalto University, takes his role as the alternate member of Finland in the IEC Conformity Assessment Board (CAB), he shares his vision for strengthening the connection between the technical standardization committees and conformity assessment processes within the IEC. Leveraging his extensive experience, Jafar is excited to contribute to the enhancement of IEC standards and ensure their applicability, particularly in an era of rapidly advancing technology.

SESKO has launched the SESKO Award for Advancing the Electrified Future 2026–2027, a new programme recognizing research, development and innovation projects that successfully apply and advance electrotechnical standardization. The biennial programme builds on the legacy of SESKO’s previous RDI Award Programme with updated themes and broader target groups. Award-winning projects will receive a cash prize, visibility through SESKO’s communication channels, and the opportunity to be nominated for the European CEN and CENELEC Standards + Innovation Awards.
